Ben Cliff reminds me a little of Craig Miles. Relatively average bowler a lot of the time but with a prospensity to be a bit streaky when he’s in the mood and with the right conditions. Similar action.
i felt like you were damning him with faint praise unfairly here but looking at his record.... crikey. To say an 11 wicket match is an outlier in the context of the rest of his career is quite the understatement.
cricinfo has has stats as 7 career wickets in 10 matches/14 innings. not sure how up to date that is but still, honorary Bear Ben Cliff has really pulled it out of the bag.
Sussex need 63 with 9 wickets in hand, come on now, don't **** it up.
Not done yet!
That margin was pretty huge in the end, 185 runs. As Paul mentioned earlier, Soms can't get a century stand rearguard all the time and it didn't happen second innings. Top order was bad both games. I guess still in our nature to be nervous about Sussex ticking off these runs...
We’ve just got to take Leics v seriously now. They’ve won this game and have a sense of injustice and a possible appeal to come.
Were nice in form and had two days extra rest.
Big toss to win again although we’ve lost the last three and won!
The title is within our grasp surely?!!

This.
Presumably they won’t have Gilchrist?
Can anyone think of a better outcome from this last round of games. Ask any Warwickshire supporter about what we'd have liked and this would have been it. In terms of what we have to do, we can get a draw with 6 bonus points if we can assume that Somerset beat Surrey with maximum points. Of every bonus point that Somerset drop, we can afford to drop 1. I think Notts are out of it now.

Correct on Gilchrist. Assuming they won't have Hamza too.
Can we bring one of the low, slow pudding pitches back next week please?
Gilchrist can be omitted but even though Shaikh has signed for Leicestershire for next year, he is still officially on loan so surely we can stop him playing at Edgbaston.
Gilchrist's was a 2 game deal only. Hamza was ineligible from playing against us in the One Day cup, surely that applies in the CC too?
Yeah pretty sure I remember Leics’ announcement mentioning that he’d be unavailable against us in both comps.
Free entry announced for Day 1 against Leicestershire.
