As ajones said at start of play, been concentrating largely on our game, but seems Yorkshire are as per the last round with a top-order fold combined with a rear-gard action by George Hill. Somerset just looks like the players have agreed on a draw from the scorecard. Dan Lawrence opening the bowling for Surrey? It's only a tea-time look though, it's hard to look beyond our own game now seeing how far advanced it is.

I took a look at Sam Hain's recent scores in the last game and he is right up there, comms were saying he'd got frustrated about his lack of recent century bearing in mind his form - might have been relief pouring out.

Dan Lawrence has been withdrawn from Surrey's match with Somerset to join the England squad. Nikhil Gorantla (who he?) has replaced him.

Could it really have gone any better than that. I would have been happy with a 150 lead but that was a great first hour in dark conditions and then Ed and Sam did exactly the same when they came back on again. Nice little innings from Kai and Manav to bat with Hain who was just incredible, what concentration to bat that many balls and see us to a good score and a great lead. It's all set up for tomorrow and there can be no excuses for more people to turn up and see us get 'The Big One' unlike 2021 when the last day attendance was really poor.

That is such crap, the England international is being replaced by a bloke who's played one first-class game. It's a good job we are in a good position otherwise it looks like a poor replacement nevertheless.

Yes that's ridiculous and on a par with the number of injury substitutions most teams seem to be making. Be interesting to see a league table of who has taken advantage the most.

Its one of my favourite things about all this!

A Somerset whingepants has been on the BBC site talking about how the weather has played a massive par tin the CC this season and I pointed out his sides use of subs and how Gregory is always trying to get the ball changed after a while when wickets are not falling. There might be a lot of people always saying how nice it would be if Somerset won the title, well, not this lot who are full of nasty, mouthy individuals who somehow think the game owes them something after the 2016 title race, 10 bloody years ago.

Somerset are incredibly entitled. They take over the whole county championship narrative and are so full of themselves. I’m really pleased we’ve blown them away and just got on with it!

I still can't get over that knock from Sam Hain. Absolutely brilliant, proper knock. Just thinking about his celebration makes me emotional, it meant so much to him.
