Paul Farbrace has ended up at Sussex as head coach. I guess that was the type of move he was looking for. Good luck to him.

He wanted a more "hands on" role, plus it's closer to his family, seems like an ideal move for him.
We just need a good, and visionary, director of cricket and changes to some of the coaches.
A new first team head coach and bowling coaches for both 1st and 2nd teams are needed.
I agree that this looks like an ideal role for Farbrace. His son-in-law, Ollie Robinson, is also at Hove.
As for the Director of Cricket role, The Cricketer reports that Ashley Giles was in line for the job at Worcestershire but turned it down - possibly with something better in mind?
Son in law? I thought it was stepson.
Just seen we have a new 1st team bowling coach, Stuart Barnes.
Having read the clubs release, it seems he has a very good background with over 20 years coaching experience, from young players upto international level.
Hopefully a good signing.
It is stepson.
Interesting to see people reported Farbrace didn’t apply for it though.
The concern for me is, does he try take a few players with him. We have a few going into the last year of their contract. I’ve already seen on some Sussex accounts fans rumouring he’s going to try get Burgess to go back, and apparently Ed Pollock too.
Paul Farbrace is going from Sussex to try to sort out the mess at Lancashire:

I saw only a couple of weeks ago that he was taking up a new role as Director of Cricket at Sussex. The financial difficulties they are in must be very much un-resolved if he's had a change of heart so soon.
I did also see that Lancashire finishing second bottom was their worst ever finish! Two other counties have never finished bottom since the Championship expansion in 1895 - can anybody name them?

Surrey and Middlesex?
Because of the financial problems at Sussex, Paul Farbrace's new role was only going to be part-time so there must have been a big pay difference between that and the full time role at Lancashire.
I think Surrey and Middlesex are right. Warwickshire have finished bottom three times.
