A great effort from the bowlers.
I was critical of Booth but he has really shown his abilities since the first game. Mike Taylor compared him to Heath Streak, and he could be a great asset for years to come.
I thought Bamber would be a superb signing and he is the real deal. It shows the benefit of recruiting young and hungry bowlers rather than old stagers like Rushworth, who hasn't provided value for money all.
Time for the batsmen to step up and get us over thr lime tomorrow.

Hoping our openers can bat for an hour or so today, just to take the pressure off Shaikh & Malik. Should we lose an early wicket i do wonder if Mousley might be moved up to three, he did bat pretty well for his 32 on the first day.

Bamber is indeed showing signs of being a great signing. To be fair to Rushworth, he was excellent in his first season I thought (without checking I’m sure he took 50+ wickets). Unfortunately injured since!

Well I’m enjoying my day at Headingley but it’s a bit tense, to say the least.

Great away performance

Seem to have more resilience in the side this year.

An excellent performance by the Bears! Great batting today by Zen Malik after the openers got us off to a decent start, glad he got to bat until the finish with a nice 49 not out. Webster's great knock in the first innings was crucial to our lead, Bamber bowled excellently for his 9 wickets but my player of the match goes to Ed Barnard for his all-round contribution. 3 wickets in their first innings, another 3 in the second and 41 & 37 runs scored as well. He also came in to bat both times when we were in tricky positions, particularly in the first innings at 47 - 4. Superb stuff!

Yes Barnard is a superb player, should be first pick in all formats.

A good, strong finish, was hoping that that last ball was going for 4 so that Malik could get to his 50 but what a super little knock that was and after 1 win last season that we had to wait ages for, we now have 2 from 4 games. Well done the lads, a lot to be happy about and a really fulfilling 'Team Effort'.

Great win against stiff opposition! Even with 3 England batsmen they couldn't muster many runs. Well done to our batsmen and bowlers, it should give them confidence from this experience.

Actually five players with Test experience in that Yorkshire side so to beat them in their own back yard is probably our best result since Liam Norwell's nine wickets kept us in Division 1. Good things are happening.

SO FAR, the decision to replace Robinson, with Westie, is paying off. I'm so pleased, that the changes most of us felt were needed in the Coaching set up, are showing dividends. Levels of application, attitude and ability seem to be way up on that seen in recent years.

Unfortunately I have seen very little cricket until this morning I was able to watch after the first hour. I thought Malik played an excellent innings calm and patient and such a shame it didn't result in a 50no. When Yates fell it could easily have pressed the panic button but I thought he kept his head well. Great start to the season.

Great win, bowled with discipline throughout & batted really well in the 2nd innings in difficult conditions.

Hopefully Webster will settle in with the ball in hand because his batting could be really handy, press the accelerator when needed or pump a few over the boundary to counter attack.

The ball that got Davies was unplayable but he & Yates set us up nicely.

Outstanding win with so many players contributing. Webster's 85 was brilliant he took charge when the game was in the balance on day2. Barnard brilliant with a bat and ball, so reliable, a proper senior players performance. Bamber continues to impress, not sure I can recall too many people criticising him in fairness, he had a bad game v Notts, not sure anyone's gonna deny that. He looks a guaranteed wicket with the new ball. The openers deserve credit for the way they negotiated last night and then got us going this morning. Mousley's 32 in the first innings was crucial in the context of the game and also in the game situation at the time, Webster couldn't have done what he did had Mousley not steadied us after 47/4. Booth continues to give us a point of difference, i wasn't sure on him I admit. Never said I didn't rate him, just that I wanted to see more, now I have. Zen, looks a player, long way to go for him but once he settled he played some attractive shots, well done to him. Strange pitch that one, bit of up and down, definitely got easier against the older ball. People will point the finger at Yorkshire's batters failing but goodness me they bowled so poorly. We bowled excellently though, whenever it looked like the 3rd innings was getting away from us we just kept fighting back with a wicket or a miserly spell. We ain't gonna win every game but we are gonna fight. Root's wicket was a moment, always felt as though Yorkshire were favourites with at the crease, to get him though was clearly match defining.

2 away games, 2 wins.

Fantastic win at Headingley. Lots of contributions from 1 to 11. Obviously Barnard's all round performance, Bamber's wickets and Webster's match defining knock are at the forefront but they all gave something to the cause. This is what Westwood has brought in with his leadership, he has as many wins in a month as Robinson achieved in the past two years.
Pleased for Malik showing he has the mettle for first class cricket. Latham for Sheikh further strengthens us for Surrey.

I was talking to a couple of the players at Portland Road last week (no names!), they said the Coaching changes have already started to have a big impact - on them and the squad as a whole. Westwood is a breath of fresh air, so positive, inspirational and always willing to help players out, with technique and attitude. Kerrigan has also transformed the Second team in his approach to games. Although still part time (building up his involvement), Walker has already had a big impact on the batsmen in the nets and both players said they are hugely benefiting from his input - though neither wanted to put down Frostie ("he was always such a nice guy and a 'helpful' Coach!").

There does seem to be a contrast between the general mood and atmosphere this year and last.
I was at Headingley on what turned out to be the last day and, at lunchtime, after Dan Mousley was bowled in the last over before the interval, I thought that the match was very evenly poised. But Ed Barnard and Malik steadied the ship and in the end, I wasn't sure what I'd been worried about!

You've been watching Warwickshire cricket long enough, Mr Shedd, to know that you should always worry!
And to correct my earlier post, the Tykes had SIX Tesr players in their side. I didn't realise that Sears had been capped by New Zealand. An even better result.
