Not seen any team news for us yet although I expect Webster to play. Unfortunately, Yorks are boosted by the return of Root and Brook!

Malik and who else to be left out ? The fact that Malik is in, must mean a (injury ?) doubt about a batsman.
'The only good banker, is the Lickey Banker!'
Malik has had one good innings in the 2nd team all season, hardly an overwhelming reason to be put in the first team.
I'd move Mousley to 3 with Webster at 5, so Malik and Sheikh are omitted.
Was Fernando available for this game? If so, preferring Booth as an overseas pick (and I can understand why) doesn't reflect well on our recruitment.
Think Fernando was a short term deal.
Fernando was April only, mercifully.
I think the team today will be:
Yates
Davies
Mousley
Hain
Barnard
Webster
Smith
Booth
Bamber
OHD
T Ali
Plenty of bowling options and a strong middle order.
Team:-
Davies
Yates
Shaikh
Malik
Mousley
Barnard
Smith
Bamber
Booth
Webster
OHD
We won the toss and chose to bowl.
"You can take the boy out of Atherstone, but you can never take Atherstone out of the boy !"
"The Bears and the (footballing) Foxes for ever !"
No Hain!
Must be injured as said above, which takes a huge amount out our batting. Perhaps that's why we're bowling first?
That ton Zen made in the weeks for the 2's must have been tremendous because as has been said previously he's had a bit of a shocker until then.
However, players have looked mediocre in the 2's before before getting a chance in the 1's and its been the making of them.
Pretty deep batting line up...
I am not knocking Kai Smith as he is making his breakthrough but that was poor keeping there..........easy chance to his right to snaffle Bess.
You cant be missing chances like that, it was only a couple of feet away from him.
I'm disappointed Taz Ali is not included, i thought he bowled well in the first two matches we played.
Slightly worried about Shaikh/Malik/Mousley at 3/4/5, it could well be the reason we decided to bowl first.
And 2 chances to gain a run out...........what a mess
Mousley has to it hit the stumps there, he had ages.

I've a feeling Webster will go 4 or 5.
I hope the problem with Sam Hain is a short-term injury. I have felt that he has been out of sorts all season so I hope that it isn't a problem that has been brewing in the background.
Right. I support Spurs and this is all eerily familar with injuries. If it's a mechanical physical injury would be easy to say just that. Anything brewing they would keep quiet I guess.

phew..........Smith managed to keep that one stuck in!
Thought it was a bit of a risk to put in a side containing Lyth, Brook, Root and Bairstow, 30-2 is good but I hope we don't have another ,Let the batsmen off the hook day', the good thing might be that Root and Brook haven't had much cricket and might be rusty, here's hoping.
