Let's hope we don't get more dodgy decisions against us this afternoon!

Does Michael Booth not qualify as a local player next season?
Let's hope so! I think a bowling attack of Booth, Bamber & Gilchrist looks tasty, backed up with OHD, Barnard & Webster too seems our best seam attack for some while. We just need a quality spinner added to our squad, unless we give Taz Ali a run in the side.

Have to say Young is looking like the player we have been missing for years.

Such a sensible innings. We’ve not had an anchor like this since Trott and Moles.

Would be great next season!

Well we've already signed Beau Webster until the end of July next year, would you take Young over signing Booth for next season in the CC?

Well played to Young & Barnard for getting us back in the game. Let's hope they can keep going tomorrow morning & avoid any dodgy lbw decisions. With Mousley, Booth & Bamber to bat as well hopefully we can get ourselves a lead at some point.

That was never out - a shocking decision on Davies from this umpire.

That is probably our best bowling performance of the season - everyone contributed. Hopefully we can bat well and get a good first innings lead.

So Bamber & Booth are fit and ok to play today - why weren't they selected for Saturdays quarter-final? OHD played & he's in the team today, so why not choose our best two bowlers for the match? Are Garton & Gleeson contracted to play every Blast match unless they are injured? I just don't understand why we didn't select our strongest possible team for an important match.

Bamber's already got Sibley out, the team looks strong today so hopefully we can put in a good performance against this Surrey lot.

It felt as if we were in control of the game for most of the match, but lost it in the last few overs. Fair play to Dickson, it was a great knock from him to win the game. I thought Lintott should of bowled another over earlier on in their innings, it left us short of a death bowler at the end. Felt sorry for Ed having to bowl the last over, although i don't know why he bowled every ball in the slot ready to be hit. I thought after the first six from Dickson he might have tried to bowl the next ball a little wide of the off stump, but hey-ho. When will we ever get past the dreaded quarter-finals of the Blast?!

Good luck to the Bears this evening, i am hoping we can put in a good performance and pull off a win. I do think we might go with the extra batsman tonight, so maybe Malik in at 7?

I think we gambled today by not playing Bamber & Booth, maybe got a little complacent thinking we would win and save them for the quarter-final on Thursday? I understand squad rotation but for an important fixture today surely they could of played? One would hope they would be fit enough to be able to bowl 10 overs every couple of days.

I think Ed Barnard has been excellent for us in this competition, i hope he is considered as captain for the County Championship next season.

We aren't playing Sussex away, it's on Tuesday at Edgbaston.

Yep, my mistake - Sussex at HOME.

Remaining fixtures:

Yorkshire: Sussex (A) Kent (A)

Somerset: Kent (A) Northants (H)

Bears: Durham (A) Sussex (A)

Middlesex: Northants (A) Lancashire (A)

Well played today to our youngsters Taz Ali, Hamza Shaikh & Kai Smith, lets hope they can continue this good form in the rest of the competition. Great knock as well today from Zen Malik, a very enjoyable win.

The quarter-finals will be played next Thursday, 28 August. Semi Finals on Sunday 31 August & the Final on Saturday 20 September.

We need to be careful we don't lose another couple of wickets, plenty of overs left to get the runs we just need to bat sensibly from now on.

That was a really excellent run chase, and Kai Smith played a very sensible & responsible innings. When Hamza Shaikh was out i thought we might be in trouble, but young Kai together with Jake Lintott (not forgetting Jani's impetus with his 21 off 14) saw us home. Good knocks too from Yates, Malik & Shaikh so a real team effort today.

Three big games coming up, a couple of wins should see us through.

A really good performance today, well done to young Taz he should get a good run in the side now.

Let's stick with Barnard as captain & Davies batting at 4!

Fair play to Davies, that was a great innings. Perhaps batting at 4 suits him better than opening?

Birmingham Live in February this year has Cain quoted as saying that the stands were built in the 1950's, although he doesn't specify the year:

"The stands are really important. Raglan and Priory stand were built back in the 1950s.''

And well played OHD, doing his best Jack Leach impersonation!
