Great stuff!!

Looking at that new boys Leics have made some smart acquisitions.

Weirdly enough, despite the batting collapses this season, I actually think that if we’d had a bowling attack capable of taking 20 wickets consistently that we’d have been competing right up near the top. We got ourselves into good positions in quite a few games (most of them, really) but it was generally our inability to bowl sides out that really cost us I think. Convert even only a couple of those 9 drawn games to wins and the table starts to look a lot different.

Agreed. Least bonus bowling points too in the division I believe.

I think we have some good young players. We don't though have strong leadership from either captain or coach.

Sadly it looks like we won't have any cricket to watch tomorrow.

Yes we've given up in this innings very much like we did in the first!

Young is an opener, Mousley and Malik have opened at 2nd team Level, Bethel has opened in International cricket (U19), I think Kai may have too when he played for UAE.

Also, were we not told when Davies originally signed his hands had long term injuries that prevented him keeping in red ball games?

Davies definitely needs to stop doing this ridiculous opening, keeping and captaining malarkey. Westwood should be stepping in to say no, suggests he's a weak coach.

In the spirit of Rob Key!

Kai now has a championship batting average above both of our openers, perhaps the wrong man was left out of the side?

Problem is Kai isn't an opener, the main problem is that we have no other options to open, but a lot of middle order batsmen.

Really terrible last 2 hours. Looks like Sussex may pip us to 4th if they win and we lose.

No place for Chris Woakes in the Ashes squad.

I'd like to think he'll be free to play for us next season now. He could join OHD, Barker and Rushworth in an old man pace attack!!

Just for fun who would people like to see go down with Worcestershire?

I'll go with Hampshire.

Other candidates - Durham, Yorkshire, Sussex, Essex.

On a more serious note, a likely 4th place for us is better than most predicted in April. Question is how we make the next step.

As this game is heading to, an almost certain, draw, would it not be a good idea to let Kai keep wicket for the remainder of the Surrey innings and gain more experience of keeping in English conditions?

Why almost certain draw?

And Jack Shantry is Joel Wilson!

Would that be Shantry of Worcestershire hmmm

Won the toss bowling.

If Kai isn't injured then this feels a little harsh...

Also the stupid decision for Davies to open, captain and keep wicket!

Must be a green top, each side playing 5 seamers effectively. At least we bowl first.

I don't know why Booth is not in the squad ahead of OHD and Miles. And garton and gleeson for that matter.

Yes seems odd. I'd expect Miles, OHD and either Malik or Hamza to miss out from the starting team.

I see Jacob has gone for 21 off his 2 overs this afternoon. He's not good enough to bowl for England yet IMHO. Really, really hope this summer doesn't set him back as feel he's been very messed around by the national team to the detriment of his proper development as a potential international all rounder.

Embarrassing finish from Lancashire there

Yes annoying but we threw our game away which was even worse.

Might be a good job that Middlesex are going to lose!

Not certain Middx will lose yet!

Can someone remind me of the qualification process? Is it top team goes straight to semi-final, second and third placed teams from each group play each other to determine the other two semi-finalists?

Yes, assume 2nd in A plays 3rd in B etc

They're all determined to win this game in less than 30 overs, ridiculous.
