I had to look up the answer! Was surprised as he was a great bowler, didn't think he'd scored that many runs. Comes across well on tv by the way.
So we've packed the batting. No Harmer for them is good news.
How long do we have Webster for? Hope whatever that he's back in 2026.
Maybe they want Brookes to get his second century of the match. Anyway, Davies should be relieved of his captaincy duties as soon as this horror show is done with.
Here we go again with the killer 9th wicket partnership.

How pathetic has today been? Possibly the weakest opponents in the Division and the Bears collapse like a deck of cards. Oh, of course, a great move to get rid of Ethan Brookes! He seems to be getting better and better for the Pears. Personally, I don't think either Westwood or Davies are good enough for a County the size of Warwickshire. We need winners at the top to take the club forward.
Agree on all points but at least we saved the follow on. Well done Kai Smith.

Thank you, good to know I'm not the only person who can see who our main negative factor is.
I agree with you again Highveld. Never a captain in a million years though I think there's a batsman in there once he's removed (hopefully) from the role.

What Corey and OHD must think when he's gone to Mousley who just been smacked for two sixes..
We trying to throw the game away here
Beyond a joke now. Dan hasn't bowled well for ages (Blast games). If we don't get the third bowling point its not acceptable.

Yet again the game is slipping away from us as we can't get the tail out
We lack any real pace to blow tail enders away, nor imaginative captaincy.

Brookes went off injured in a second eleven game a couple of weeks ago but he is not making the first team on form anyway.
A good ton from Gekis got us up to a decent score in the end.
Yes think it's important to remember that for every Ethan Brookes I'd say there's more we've released who aren't up to much at their new counties. Johal, Garrett, H Brookes to name just some.

Bethell situation is crazy to me, since that Test series in NZ he's barely played any cricket.
Totally agree and perhaps it explains why when he's parachuted into any of our Blast games he looks so undercooked.

A comprehensive win tonight. We'll finish 3rd in the group and play 2nd in the South group in the QF's - Surrey or Somerset away - but either are a big ask for the Semi's.
So, I'm pretty sure we've got Somerset, at Taunton. Not easy.
Sat 6th Sept 6.30pm
Key wicket of Donald already is crucial.

Yeah, this is painful against the worst team in the division
This comment aged well. Hopefully as we have 9 bowlers to choose from we will defend this ok.

Still not so much as a mention of it on our website. It comes to something when the runner's up post details and the winners don't bother to! Our website really is poor - for example, there is fleeting reference to the World Championship of Legends matches being played at Edgbaston, but nowhere can I see details of when, who is playing etc. I have found some info on the WCL website and matches at Edgbaston start tomorrow - details below if anyone is interested. Looks as if a few old Bears are in the England squad, including Ian Bell, Tim Ambrose and Mo Ali, which is interesting because I think he's currently turning out for Guyana in the Caribbean T20! A few other former Bears appear for other nations too, including Imran Tahir, Shiv Chanderpaul and Fidel Edwards, who I seem to recall played a game for us whilst on loan, although I may be mistaken.

Yes Fidel played T20 for us in 2019, didn't he take a load of wickets in his first game?

Passed me by that Davies isn't part of the 100. I don't want to start another pile on but was quite looking forward to seeing Barnard / Yates opening as thought that was quite complimentary. Good to see Booth, Hamza and Taz get a run in the side again. Will Bamber do 50 over?
Had completely forgotten about Bamber! And yes shove Davies down the order please.
GerryShedd wrote:
The Bears will have seven players missing from the 50 over competition because they will be playing in The Hundred.
They are:
Sam Hain, Jacob Bethell, Dan Mousley, George Garton, Richard Gleeson, Danny Briggs, Chris Woakes
Only Surrey (15), Lancashire (13) and Hampshire (8) have more players missing. Worcestershire with just one player absent (Adam Hose) are least affected.
Not sure on the status of our overseas contingent but even so this team should do ok I reckon:
Davies
Yates
Hamza
Malik
Barnard
Another batsman not sure who? Jani maybe
K Smith
Lintott
OHD
Booth/Miles
Simmons/T Ali

4th place in the group is looking decidedly 'iffy' now. I think it will be difficult to get into the QF's. Leics & Notts have got games in hand and Worcester, a similar run rate. Mind you they either to play each other, or one of the top 3. A big win for us, is essential.
Leics play Durham at Chester-le-Street tomorrow - (heavy) rain expected all afternoon and showers all evening, so it's odds on that it will be a NR. 2 points for Leics, will still keep them below us, with 1 game for both left.
Will need to keep an eye on the Worcester/Notts game on Thursday. Both teams are on 24 points, so whoever wins will join us on 28. We don't want Worcester to win easily (their NRR is close'ish to ours and a lot would then depend on final games). I think a Notts win would be better (their NRR is quite a bit worse).
It's Worcestershire's last game though so even if they win we'd just need to beat Derbyshire to finish ahead of them anyway.
Never in doubt haha we're peaking at the right time for once.
Personally I think Westwood was a bad choice as coach but we really didn't help ourselves leaving Robinson in post so long after last season ended.
