Very much looking forward to Friday and Saturday in Scarborough.

Any recommendations for best fish and chip shop and evening entertainment?

Lifeboat Fish Bar - was there only in March.

I reckon we have the least T20 specialists of anyone in the comp. Gleeson and who else? This smacks of really poor recruitment and management. How much is it to see a Blast game these days btw as I doubt many will bother now.

Dan M, Gleeson, Booth, Kai Smith and even Garton would make a difference but fear its too late. The selections Im afraid are on Westwood, its more of a longer format line up currently than a T20 one. No power hitters, no real pace. Dreadful all round unfortunately.

I agree, it's all down to Westwood. Terrible squad selection, terrible team choice. At least 3 of that XI should be nowhere near a start - Davies, Vansh & Thompson. 2 others should be seriously doubted - OHD & a spinner (we can't go with two again). And Webster is, currently, a big let down.

Bamber, Kai Smith & Malik HAVE to come in. Booth, as well, probably. How can a team that hasn't lost in all six of its T20 games (our Seconds) not show the First team the way?!

Agree about Webster, he's much more a four day player than a T20 one. Really can't understand the thought processes when picking the current team.

Yes the spin combo very impressive in the post Briggs/Lintott world.

Going at end of season so expect he will still play some one day stuff for us.

Good recovery that. Nice that we bat so deep which makes up for a very erratic top order!!

Jacob definitely needs to play in this one, he's not played any meaningful cricket since March 5th - that's 7 weeks now. Apparently he's only played in one first class game for Warwickshire since August 2024.

Not picked again despite no Salt.

what a game!

Not assuming anything until Harmer is out.

If we lose this will be disastrous.

Gilchrist
Hain
Lintott
Malik
Mousley
Smith
Thompson
Webster
Woakes
Yates

Tough decision who to leave out apart from Lintott.

Congrats Dan - named as captain for the Lions 50 over side next month.

Not having Garton or Hassan Ali would not be a negative, their availability was dreadful, and in most games the performance was less than adequate.

We have wasted too much money on Hassan Ali for the low number of games played and poor performance levels.

This is such an odd take, Hassan took 25 wickets (far and away our highest) at an average of 15 last season!

You should know by now that once Highveld decides he doesn't like a particular player he reminds us about it constantly 🙄

Glos away first up.

I assume top 2 in each of the 3 groups plus the 2 best third place teams go to the QF stage? We should be there or thereabouts given our opponents.

Great stuff!!

Looking at that new boys Leics have made some smart acquisitions.

Weirdly enough, despite the batting collapses this season, I actually think that if we’d had a bowling attack capable of taking 20 wickets consistently that we’d have been competing right up near the top. We got ourselves into good positions in quite a few games (most of them, really) but it was generally our inability to bowl sides out that really cost us I think. Convert even only a couple of those 9 drawn games to wins and the table starts to look a lot different.

Agreed. Least bonus bowling points too in the division I believe.

I think we have some good young players. We don't though have strong leadership from either captain or coach.
