Both openers are currently averaging over 50 for the season.
Michael Burgess has a minor injury.
I pretty well agree with UrsaMinor's assessment. The number of injuries to bowlers has been a big factor; but that seems to be par for the course.
Chris Woakes has taken 1-220, horrendous bowling figures for a man of his pedigree. I know he is a bit rusty; but compare with Jummy Anderson - 8-64 in his only match.
I'm not in the "sack them all" club but for sure questions need to be asked and answered by the coaching staff.
He'll be captaining the sons of two former England captains in Rocky Flintoff and Archie Vaughan plus Jaydn Denly who is the nephew of joe Denly.
Alex Davies says:
“We would have liked to score a bit quicker and have a few overs at them tonight. But the ball became like a sock as they threw it into the dirt at every opportunity to soften it, which was good tactics on their part."
Yes, who would have thought that it could rain at Old Trafford?
God is a Pear. Or maybe a Ciderman.
Seems like Chris Wright was extremely unlucky. He hardly qualifies as one of the big time Bears/ex-Bears drug takers:

Well, there's an unexpected late bonus! Two nightwatchmen gone.
Yes, I would say a terrific recovery, begun by Barnard and Rhodes and carried on by Burgess, well supported by Chris Woakes.
I'd like to get some tips from the Somerset groundsman because I'd love to get my lawn looking as green as that pitch. How much help it will give to the Warwickshire bowlers remains to be seen.
According to The Telegraph, Chris Woakes is due to be named in the squad for the West Indies series.
If there are doubts about whether Hasan Ali will recover in time for the next batch of T20 games, Zak Foulkes may well be a like-for-like replacement - a right arm seamer who can bat a bit, with the added advantage of being a few years younger.
Almost unbelievable that Norwell is injured yet again. Presumably this could put him out for the whole season. And Rushworth's injury is taking a long time to heal. Again, at his age, there must be doubts as to when/whether he can come back.
I think that to say that Danny Briggs is being rested is a bit kind. "Dropped" might be more honest because he hasn't looked like a four day bowler at any stage this season. Seven wickets at 81 apiece is a poor return for a front line bowler.
Depending on the state of the pitch, I suspect that Lintott may miss out and they will rely on the return of Yates to provide spin.
Let's hope that Chris Woakes has bowled himself back into form - one wicket in 34 overs so far is well below what he and we might have hoped for.
Sorry, Banton was the man I meant! I knew it was Tom somebody.

Yes, should be an interesting contest.
All credit to Andy Umeed for re-inventing himself as a stroke playing all-rounder from being a Bear who plodded along as a batter. As for Tom Lammonby, I'm still annoyed that Somerset managed to poach him from under our noses.
(PS - it's no longer the LVCC - it's the Vitality Championship.)
Wonderful innings by Sam Hain. Hope his injured hand isn’t too bad.

OK, we'll get rid of the batters, bowlers and coaching staff. Can the stewards stay or do they need to go too? And I've just had a word with the cleaning lady who's a bit worried about losing her job in the big clear out.
Little bit rude that. The poster was just giving an observation.
No, it was a lot rude and I apologise.
I gave me a chuckle,though.
Don’t encourage me!
