Just issued today:
https://edgbaston.com/news/new-masterplan-and-levelling-up-fund-bid-to-transform-edgbaston-stadium/
It says: " Building on the success of the Birmingham Bears and Birmingham Phoenix brands, the proposed redevelopment will help to make sport and its associated health and wellbeing benefits more visible and connected to the local community." No mention of Warwickshire there; and I'm not sure how the Phoenix Brand that promotes Butterkist sweet popcorn fits in with health and wellbeing. Even so, it's an interesting and ambitious project.

Paul Farbrace's job being advertised, though I thought he was called Director of Sport, a title I never quite understood.

It sets the expectations pretty high - I'm surprised that there is no mention of walking on water or being able to achieve wonders with loaves and fishes.

The unsung heroes of Warwickshire's season are the groundstaff under Gary Barwell so it's good to see them getting some credit here:

A summary of the complicated situation going into the final qualifying match:

Anyone want to buy a ticket for day four at Lord's?
(Only joking about England's performance, not ticket touting!)

Preview here:

No Pandya in the squad but I haven't seen any updates about the extent/nature of his injury.

It's the weekend so maybe time for a not too difficult quiz question.
I was born in Bentley Heath; and there is one international cricketer who went to the primary school there. Who was/is it?
A clue: it wasn't me, partly because I didn't actually go to that school and, well, you know the other reason.

Sibley returns to the squad:

I hope the bowlers are suitably rested after their efforts in the heat.

News of the Sussex squad.
https://sussexcricket.co.uk/news/squad-named-trip-edgbaston
they seem to have plenty of injury issues.

It doesn't look as if the team is going to be short of wicket-keepers for the 50 over tournament:

Another post about tickets available because of illness - and more about getting them used than any expectation of payment. The tickets are for hockey on Sunday afternoon at the University of Birmingham.
Let me know if interested.

Adam is leaving at the end of the season to join Worcestershire:

I guess it's the bit about wanting to play across all formats that is significant.

I guess this is a good move by the Club - but if they really are the first, it doesn't say much for the rest:

Just wanted to give the games a mention PLUS:
My daughter has three tickets for table tennis at the NEC on Saturday 6 August (9.30-12.30) at £15 each. If anyone is interested, let me know. She is offering them
around to friends so it is a case of first come, first served.
