What an incredible turnaround - and a fabulous advert for four day cricket. Hats off to the boys who pulled it off yesterday, just a pity that Dan M didn't go on and make his first CC century, it was certainly well within his grasp!

How ironic that the two key protagonists with the bat - Ethan Brookes and Zen Maik - both excelled against their original clubs. Guess they may both have had something of a point to prove!

What a fiasco today has proved to be. Very difficult to fathom the tactics this morning, and that last over from Mousely was more than embarrassing. The entire morning session was utterly shambolic, and I can only blame the Captain for that, he's got to go!

Does anyone know why Sam Hain isn't playing? Is he injured? What about Simmons? Nothing that I can see on the club's website, but that's nothing new....

Still not so much as a mention of it on our website. It comes to something when the runner's up post details and the winners don't bother to! Our website really is poor - for example, there is fleeting reference to the World Championship of Legends matches being played at Edgbaston, but nowhere can I see details of when, who is playing etc. I have found some info on the WCL website and matches at Edgbaston start tomorrow - details below if anyone is interested. Looks as if a few old Bears are in the England squad, including Ian Bell, Tim Ambrose and Mo Ali, which is interesting because I think he's currently turning out for Guyana in the Caribbean T20! A few other former Bears appear for other nations too, including Imran Tahir, Shiv Chanderpaul and Fidel Edwards, who I seem to recall played a game for us whilst on loan, although I may be mistaken.

According to NZ cricket's website, Tom Latham is captaining the kiwis in Zimbabwe and the team is assembling there on 27th July, so I suspect he'll be out of action until at least mid August.
Don't think that Hassan's been selected for Pakistan's forthcoming series but I may be wrong.

Awful bowling today- virtually one six per over was pretty much guaranteed- leaving the batsmen no chance of pulling off a victory. Our NRR might just see us over the line, if we beat Derbyshire, but frankly I don’t fancy our chances of progressing to Finals Day on today’s showing even if we do proceed.

A very proficient all round performance, helped by some very odd batting by the Pears. They certainly didn’t make good use of the power play and apparently faced 63 dot balls!
Good to see GG perform well. Cracking catch by Latham at the end too. Still some frustrations with the openers but that aside, perhaps we have finally discovered the optimum T20 team this year.

A decent effort but not quite good enough; interesting and somewhat ironic that the two main contributors with the bat today were deemed unfit for T20 under previous management, just a shame that one was for the opposition.

Big week ahead if we want to progress, we’re going to have to pull out all the stops on Wednesday against Lancs - especially if Salt, Wood, Buttler et al play - and ensure we overcome the Pears on Friday.

32 off 15 balls, not too shabby a debut. In fact it was a fruitful evening for former Bears with Will Rhodes - supposedly, a non-T20 player here - top scoring with 58no and Ethan Brookes also hitting a 50 and bowling four economic overs. Not sure where Ed Pollock was tonight and Hose didn’t do a lot but otherwise the Bears old boys played a big part.
Bears management - past and possibly present- have a lot to answer for!

I shall be sorry to see him go, hasn’t quite lived up to his potential in the four day format, but as others have said, he will certainly be sorely missed in T20 and be hard to replace.

I wonder if his departure might increase our appetite for signing Shoaib Bashir, especially as Taz Ali is still learning his trade and Jake Lintott seems to have gone completely off the boil?

Looks like Chris has picked up a potentially season-ending injury. Shame, as he seemed to be doing pretty well since moving:

Just when you think it can’t get any worse…it does. Dreadful, no wonder there aren’t many bums on seats.

Quite a recovery for Craig Miles whose first two deliveries cleared the ropes, the second off a no ball. At that stage his figures were an eye watering 0.1-0-14-0!

Not overly surprised at the news that Beau will be missing for a while on international duty. Frustrating to see that Hassan Ali’s presence will now be limited due to being awarded a central contract by the PCB.

Great news - he looks an exciting talent and I'm surprised Middlesex didn't hold onto him. All of a sudden, our middle order is looking exciting with, potentially, some healthy competition for places!

Well played you Bears and kudos to Latham, Barnard, Yates and Malik in particular. Zen Malik deserves huge credit for his tenacity, having apparently spent years trying to get a professional contract, trialing at multiple counties. Credit too to the SACA for helping to put him in the shop window, he’s no youngster but he’s made a terrific start to his career and is going to take some dislodging. And he’s got something that Bethell, Mousley and Sheikh don’t have - a first class hundred to his name!

An unbeaten hundred this afternoon for Jani, at more than a run a ball. To be fair, there have been shed loads of runs and very few wickets in this match but nevertheless, he looks like a rare talent. Do hope the powers that be take note before another county show an interest!

Bit of a shambolic second innings from the Bears, who collectively only mustered 3 more runs than Jani scored in his second innings. Sign him up, pronto!

Wow, that was a nail biter! Fantastic win, which will give a lot of confidence to the team. Still clear issues to address but with the likes of Barnard, Smith, Booth and Bamber showing such spirit and fight, the future doesn't look so bad.

Really impressed also with the quality of streaming and the young Durham commentators too - really enjoyed listening to them.

Be interesting to see how Jani does against us, given that he's playing for the SACA - as is Amir Khan. Good to see OHD back on the field, hope he's fit to return to first team duties soon.
