Well Brookes has got one but it was from a poor delivery. They all count though, and it was Billings so fair play.

Quite, we've just witnessed one of the great spells there.

Blazers orf though.

Ah, that's the plan. Roll them before lunch and sit in the pavilion for the hottest sessions of the day.

Win the toss and choose to field? Surely some mistake.

He's a fine, Test quality bowler with significant fitness / injury problems. Another Olly Stone in other words. If he's fit, he's vying for England selection; if he's not he's of little use. That said, when a good bowler becomes available we have to be interested but buyer beware.

Indeed, so it's not that there are coaching or management problems - it's just that we have players who simply aren't having as good a season this year. It happens.

It's worth remembering that we're still county Champions and many of the personnel, on and off the field, who made that happen are still at the club. What we don't have, in my opinion, is a top drawer overseas player.

Magic from Adam once again.

Yorkshire, the most racist club in English cricket, complain about the ECB's handling of Yorshire's racism. They'll go to their graves, if you'll pardon the pun, believing that 'P**i' is mere banter.

That's poor from Willey in my opinion. What's going on at Yorkshire is an attempt to drag the club forward 60 years in about 24 months. There's a much bigger picture there than making David Willey's happiness their top priority. It's all a bit 'Why does the worst stuff always happen to me!" Yorkshire don't need players as selfish as that at the moment.

Mo was treated very shabbily by the previous England set up, to the extent that Root had to issue a public apology to him. I'm not surprised he retired then and neither am I surprised he fancies another crack at it under this new set up.

Doesn't look like our bowlers are going to get the five run outs they need for the victory.

Hats off to Hain and Rhodes for batting all day. Okay, not the most challenging conditions they'll ever face but to not lose a wicket is a great effort. I was so nervous for Rhodes in the 90s; I think he edged one short of slip on 98 and my heart was in my mouth.

Hain and Rhodes batted well to get us through to the close. Really gritty, 'you shall not pass' stuff. 98 and 76 balls faced respectively. Which contrasts with Alex Davies, one of our opening pair, who made a useless 8 off 7. I understand the thinking, ie a dasher next to the more defensive Sibley, but it hasn't worked and it's high time for a change.

The bowlers who are available have to bowl better, it's as simple as that.

The old batch of balls with the less pronounced seam has apparently been replaced from this round of matches on so that may partly explain why some of the batters struggled today.

Something of a recovery thanks to the rearguard action but another disappointing day to be perfectly honest. Burgess though is in the form of his life.

I really could live without pitches like this.

I know we're missing Woakes and Stone but they're not players you can plan a FC season around. We ought to have had a ready made plan to mitigate their expected absence; we shouldn't be just a Norwell injury away from fielding a substandard pace attack.
