I also think that Somerset losing made us less likely to go for the win. No point risking a defeat to go for a win with three games still to go.
With the tail that we have, I'd say 371 is about par from there.

These last two wickets may yet put on a few runs but from a fantastic platform of 244 for 3, not reaching 400 would be a disappointment. The slow scoring did rob the innings of some momentum. That's a platform middle order batters dream about.
I'd have taken this position from 7/2 though!
The other thing to consider is that Lancashire only needed one more wicket for another bonus point themselves.
Really poor. Their total was probably below par but we never got going. They shouldn’t have got more than 150 really which would have been much more doable.
Will Woakes be allowed to play?
Right, I've enabled reCAPTCHA when signing up (and signing in), which should stop the bots...
Apologies for the spate of spammers over the last day or so. If it continues then I'll try to work out a permanent solution to stop it. I'm going to disable the forum overnight to prevent a flood of spam signups while I'm not able to delete them - sorry for the disruption!
Brilliant finish - 84 runs for the last two wickets!
All our batsmen made it to double figures - that can't happen very often.

So the priority seems to be to not try and win this game then if we are allowing 3 in-form players to miss the game to play in a tour game. I agree that it is nice to see new faces in a side and hope they do well but this is stupid. I am glad I am not watching. If it looks as though a similar team will be out for Sunday's game then I might give it a miss. If you consider that I am a member like many others and didn't sign up for us to send out a 2nd XI, this would be nothing short of "taking the p***".
I think your anger should be directed at the ECB and The Hundred rather than Warwickshire CCC…

Good win again today. I noticed Woakes was missing again? Not sure of the reason, Covid isolation? It seems the ECB have done their utmost this season to keep Woakes from playing for the Bears!
According to the match preview on the official website Woakes has some sort of knee injury.
Thank you Leicestershire and better luck next time Worcestershire! 😉 Does anyone know if Brathwaite will be available for the quarter final? His batting in particular has been great these last couple of games.
Hopefully Lancashire will lose tomorrow and then we’ll know that a win will be enough, no matter what happens in the Worcestershire match
Do games which were rained off count as "completed matches"?
No squad announced for this yet, but in the interview with Briggs on the website it says that Briggs, Brathwaite and Mayers are available, with Woakes available for Sunday's game. We must win both to stand a chance of qualifying!
This is an interesting discussion but perhaps we should have a Covid thread in the Lounge section of the forum?
August was already looking pretty barren, with only four Warwickshire fixtures scheduled but maybe there won't be any? Such a shame. Cue a warm, sunny August.
Not selected for the T20 squad. I'd like to think that this means he'll be available for at least one of our T20 matches, but I won't get my hopes up.
