We go down as they've won more games than us (not difficult).

He had a go at the team after Worcester and then THIS happened. He's gotta be careful. Very scratch team available now with lots of weaknesses showing through. Need them to stand up tall at Trent Bridge. 11 points for safety so no need to worry about bonus points just need to be game savvy
5 bonus points sees us safe if Lancs win v Somerset AND get 24 points v Worcestershire.
Davies the batsman doesn't deserve to be dropped although I agree as a 4 day captain he lacks tactical and motivational abilities.

That looked way too familiar. Being unable to finish off teams.
Also, staggering tactical naivety. Field settings made no sense, I understand in theory with no Rushworth, you want to ensure OHD is good to go for the new ball. But it’s 1 wicket needed, a 10:30 start, 20 overs until the new ball, give OHD a proper go at it in conditions suited to him.
Once again, we just let it drift. And a poor start to the batting too.
Poor is an understatement.
Embarrassing last wicket partnership so far!!!!
Decent fightback here but almost certainly going to be batting again either the fag end of today or/and 10.30 in the morning.
Brilliant from Bethell tonight!

Well done Will, again. The fact that he does not need to play an innings like that, speaks volumes. He could have easily played a pretty 60 and sat in the pavilion with his feet up but he got stuck in and got the draw which looked unlikely after yesterday mornings debacle. The management should hang their heads for letting him go. Great not to lose to our neighbours and keep our 'Unbeaten v Worcs in CC since 2000', going. I think Shaikh will get a good run in the side but as we have said on here, a good overseas player is needed but who? Batsman or bowler? Retired from Tests or not? Would love a big, nasty fast bowler who could play a whole season.
Yes me too, or a spinner like Harmer!! I take it Ethan Bamber is more a successor to OHD and Rushworth?

He strikes me as a player playing with no baggage right now.
We’ve always known he’s an excellent player. No captaincy and clarity about where he’s going next year has meant he seems to be able to just bat and not worry about other things.
Great shame to lose him.
Totally agree, will be a big loss.
We are only going to be saved here by the even greater ineptitude of Kent Notts and Lancs.

Also worth mentioning that Alex Davies passed 1000 championship runs for the season and is only the second player to do so in Division 1. He's had a lot of stick since joining us but has definitely been a lot more consistent this season.
I read he was the first to do so in our division. Hopefully his captaincy will improve too, it is his first season so I'm sure we will persist with him.
Not a lot to add to the above comments. Hugely disappointing again. On that wicket with the short boundary we should have won comfortably. Brainless batting once more has undone us.
As Davies keeping wicket there was no need for Benjamin, we shall see. COYB!

I think they will go with the extra batter at 7, and i think they will stick with Benjamin. He played in all 14 of the group stage matches, and seems to be favoured over others in this format. Predicted team:
Davies
Moeen
Mousley
Hain
Bethell
Barnard
Benjamin
Garton
Briggs
Lintott
GleesonCome on you Bears!
Yeah and he's averaged 9!!! Give his place to someone more deserving.
Noticed that IF we win tonight we have avoided Surrey/Somerset and play Sussex in the second SF next Saturday - fingers crossed.
Have seen or heard nothing to say that any of Benjamin, Foulkes, Miles deserve to play. If it's a slowish wicket as often is the case I'd play the 3 seamers inc Barnard with the 6 slower bowlers.

I believe Zac Foulkes is still here so will almost definitely play.
Is he any good, I can't remember!?
No team news obviously yet but this is what I'd like to see:
Davies
Moeen
Hain
Mousley
Bethell
Barnard
Smith
Garton
Briggs
Lintott
Gleeson

Seems like an eventful morning. I notice from cricinfo there have been two fives hit as well. Scoring rate has been high. Have Kent been getting out while trying to sustain a quick pace?
A very short boundary towards the Hollies is one factor.
