Annoying when the sound wasn't working but even more annoying now that it is.
Interview with the new overseas man:

I see that Chris Woakes is in the squad! I hope he can find where he left his boots.
We think it's all over......it is now!
Excellent win.
There are quite a few items of interest in the minutes of the Community Liaison Group, including car parking plans and the non-progress on the hotel building:

The Club is looking for people to put themselves forward for the Members' Committee:
https://edgbaston.com/news/could-you-represent-the-diverse-voice-of-members-at-warwickshire-county-cricket-club/
I am too old, too white, too male and live too far away. But I do think that it would be great if those amongst us who have the interests of the Club and its supporters/members at heart did come forward. We are all critical of the Club when we think they have got it wrong. So here is an opportunity to put in some time and effort to try to make a difference.
I greatly respect the fact that Marina, who used to post occasionally on the old Bearsfans board, did volunteer; and I take as sincere her comments that her views have been heard.

Collins Obuya had a good, and long career with the Kenya side, becoming captain towards the end of his career.
He is a long way from been Warwickshires worst ever overseas player.
If we are judging by overall records, both Vihari and Malan could be seen as good choices as overseas players. It's just that they haven't delivered for Warwickshire (so far, in the case of Malan).

Unchanged 11 and we have lost the toss and are batting. Interesting that our 12th man is listed as J Couhglin, once of Durham I believe. I don't think he's played any second team games for us so not sure what the story is there.
If it is ex-Durham player Josh Coughlin as 12th man, that does seem a bit strange. He's not going to get a playing contract by acting as a glorified waiter and man-servant, which seems to be the 12th man role these days. He may perhaps get the chance to do a bit of fielding so possibly he's seen as Warwickshire's answer to Gary Pratt (remember him?).
Sidebottom and Mousley in the squad plus the eleven that beat Notts:

Good news that he has signed a three year contract, though not too much doubt because he seems to be a Bear through and through:

A great win and an excellent match all round.
This is my take on the return of spectators to Edgbaston:

I traveled yesterday with a friend who has a blue badge and he was told that the disabled spaces were full when we arrived just before the start of play.
Best wishes to Boyd in his retirement:

Very interesting, we're opening the Second Innings with Briggs and Rhodes ! I wonder if there's a reason, like injury to Yates or Malan, or it's an experiment with someone who might fill that bill. Briggs is a decent bat (though as far as I know, never been that high up the order !) - and perhaps management might feel he could do the job long term (and possibly thinking that he can't justify being in the side simply as a spinner at the moment, given how little wickets help him at this time of the season !) ?
I assumed that he was a nightwatchman, sent out to face the one over last night - but I could be wrong.
Weather prospects look pretty grim for today.

I wonder what's happened to van Vollenhoven - he did pretty well in the one game he played for us and I would have expected to see him back in the team.
A bit off piste but it doesn't look as if Josh Poysden is getting many outings with Yorkshire and I can't help wondering whether he really has much of a future there. Be disappointed if that was the case, always liked him when he was with us and hoped he'd go onto better things.
Yes, I really liked Josh Poysden both as a player and as a character. I interviewed him right at the start of his Bears career and was very impressed with his attitude and his commitment to his cricket. I just hope that he will get his chance in white ball cricket later this season, otherwise, as you say, his Yorkshire career may come to an end without ever really taking off.
