I think he played most of 2019 (?) as an opening batsman.
They'd have had an exception top 4 if all of Lamb, Pollock, Stone & Tom Banton played in the same game.

Stone in for Miles.

Lamb has to play so Hain or Yates to drop out, probably Yates.

Former Warwickshire captain Heath Streak has been given an eight year ban.

Sadly the criminals behind this are still able to carry on their activities, and further proof that T20 leagues are affected by match fixing and other corrupt activities.

Olly Stone actually opened the batting in the second innings, he has done so, with Pollock, several times for Barnt Green.
A good 50 from Ethan Brookes, plus Bethell and Roshan have got started.
Overall a disappointing game.

The best thing people who like cricket can do is just totally ignore the competition.

Looks a "lively" wicket, with 15 wickets down before tea.

Why not email the club?

It's a lot colder and there's been significant amounts of rain so the atmosphere is damper, and the air is slightly denser, making swing easier.

Why not drop Tom Rawlins an email?

I'd hope he'd be open to constructive feedback, and the balls faced data is available.

Good news about Malin at the end of this article

He now has the Visa and should be here by the end of the month.

There have been over 1000 viewers on youtube both days, including people from the USA, Aus and New Zealand, as well as the annoying spammers from India.

One benefit of live streaming is that Warwickshire, and the sponsors get world wide coverage, & it's great that Sam Hain's family in Aus can see him play.

The coverage is from, i beleive, 4 remotely controlled cameras, with someone controlling the switch of angles and replays. Also the radio commentators have no controlof the images shown on screen.

For the budget available the coverage is pretty good, yes with a bigger budget and manned cameras you could do more, but funds are limited. In many ways its a bit like cricket was covered before Packer and World Series Cricket.

A few years ago we didn't even have ball by ball audio coverage of the games, so we are getting better coverage.

As for the comentators, Richard Wilford, Clike Eakin and Mike Taylor are, in my opinion, better than Rob Gurney, obviously it bepends on rota's and other commitments who gets to cover the games.

Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf are both international umpires and two of the best on the county circuitso I've no concerns over the decisions they made today.

Overall a decent first day and some excellent catches.

Brookes and Mousley left out

I'd have Lamb in the side, so Miles and Mousley are the ones to miss out.

Official statement from the club

If we can't have a full season replacement we might be better off staying with an al English squad. I don't think a series of short term replacements is good for the team or gives the club value for the costs incurred.

Good question, I know that spectators are allowed on club grounds from the start of the local county league seasons, in groups of 6 and socially distanced etc, so I'd think it may be possible at the club grounds that are in use. Not sure what the situation would be for Portland road or New Road etc as they are not actual club grounds.

Probably best to check with the home club a few days before a game.

There will, of course, be lots of good quality club cricket played at many grounds throughout the area each weekend.
