Interestingly Ed Barnard played and batted.

I wouldn't say that a game on a ground with short boundaries, against a side that is weaker than most county second xi's is the best guide for selecting a team for a quarter final. I'd be taking into account previous performances in the T20 competition this season, and the Metro Bank performances too. Team selection should take into account ability, past performance and the enviromental conditions of the venue.

Ideally, if not playing for England, a winter spent playing domestic cricket in Aus or New Zealand would be of the most benefit too him. Probably New Zealand would be best as he'd have the change to mplay more often, and even get to play some first class cricket, similar to Jonathan Trott in his winter there. Alternately, a winder in the West Indies would give him time with his family and good cricket.

Seems Mousley is batting right now!
Usual format for 2nd team games is a side of 12 with 11 batting and fielding, I'd expect the OHD or sylvester wont bat.

To have played professional cricket for 10 years, and scored centuries in both red and white ball cricket isn't a bad career, that most people would be proud of.

With his degree from Durham Uni I'm sure doors will open for him if he is seeking a career outside cricket.
He could contue to play for Barnt Green and Herefordshire for another ten years if he wanted.

It seems Ed is moving on from Worcestershire, understandable with their current crop of young batters.

He was always an entertaining player to watch, and seems to have been a good person around the team here, at Worcester and at his club Barnt Green.

Hopefully he is successful in whatever he decides to do next.

Im terms of cricketing development for our young players, surely a link with a side in Australia, South Africa or New Zealand would be more productive, and give better opportunities?

I remember we used to have an exchange scheme with Transvaal a few years ago which worked well.

Jacob is in the England squad for the games v South Africa and Ireleand. He will be captain for the Ireland games.

Back to the 1/4 final, I do not think thast playing two wrist spinners on a small ground would be a good idea, so a decision between Tax or Lintott needs to be made, and Kai Smith should be in the side, ideally with the gloves.

Garton has claimed he wanted to play red ball cricket, but was never available.

Garton and Gleason are mercanaries, who appear to have no real commitment to Warwickshire. I'd rather spend the money on players available all season.

I've experienced that with the Sainsburys website, but only if the VPN is set to a non UK IP Address.

I quite often set the VPN to non UK locations to live stream sports from other countries.

A very good question, I'd be interested to know the total cost of emplying Hassan Ali, including flights, housing and work permits.

Unlike pro sports in the USA salary figures aren't disclosed.

Sadly people can become very tribal indeed, particularly around footbasll. During the 1970's it was observed that in counties that did not have a football league teams, a more rowdy type of supporter, who would normally attend football, was attracted to the Sunday league games, creating a less than pleasent atmosphere at some games. Although the tribalism is more a problem for society overall, not just sports.

Nuneaton CC is nowhere near viable for professional cricket, the pavillion is poor for a club ground, and the ground is part of a large area of unfenced open ground which would require substantial fencing to be errected to secure the ground, as well as temporary stands, catering and hospitality facilities building..
The Cov & N Warwicks ground has very limited parking, and again would need stands and other facilities to be built to cater for spectators. There is also the issue that the cricket club are not the primary tennent of the ground, so members of opther parts of the C&NW club would still have the right to access the ground, and parking spaces while hosting a game. The parking on the ground is limited for a normal club game, so there would, effectively be, no onsite parking for anyone exept players & officvials during the game.

I just considered the use of the Birmingham title as been similar to having a title sponsor on other sports, eg Mclaren Mastercard F1 team or Petronas AMG Mercedes in F1., or Newcastle Red Bull in Rugby Union or RB Leipzig in football.

The club is Warwickshire County Cricket Club, the players and staff get paid by Warwicksshire CCC Ltd, so the use of the title sponsor was temporary and was a neccessary evil to obtain the funding needed to safeguard the stadium's Elite ground status, and untimately the long term survival of the club

Actually, i'd have said that daring to critise Davies was the minority view on here, there were times whern North Korea allowed more vbariation of opinion than thios board, but as the great Lady Thatcher once said, "hasving a minority view does not mean you are wrong".

The above was a "party political broadcast" from the "Alex Davies fan Club", membership 2, Alex Davies & ITE7376.

Remembering the infamous "Jean" from the previous boad, perhaps they are the3 same person?

Anyway, to return to the topic.

The game will be played at Taunton, under floodlights, so allowing for the twilight period, there ,may be an advantage of batting second on the day.

Wardens is a nice ground, with plenty of space for parking and to build tempoorary stands and hospitality facilities.
The site includes a large area used asw a 3rd team ground, asnd as a rugby field, so there would be plenty of parking space.
As the ground is in a residential area, there may be limited public transport to the grouond, and I'm nopt sure if the train service to Kenilworth is viable for spectators, as to get there from Birmingham would require a change at Coventry or Leamington Spa.

I'd say that Pickwick was almost an "inner city" ground, as it's about the same distance to the city centre as Edgbaston.

Also, When I last umpired there, c 14 months ago, the outfiled resemblecd a badly ploughed field with dangerous ridges and indentations, the wickets there are very slow and low, and, in my opinion, the ground does not have the infrastructure or space to host professional cricket.

Apart from Rugby School I'm struggling to think of a ground with the facilities, space and quality of playing area that would be suitable, without a multi million pound investment? Possible Wardens in Kenilworth, but I undertand they are selling that site for housing soon.

Tom Latham scored a very similar number of runs, at a similar strike rate, without the stupid dismissals, but some here claimed he was too slow.
I know who most people would prefer to haver in the side.

The figues show some of our more exprienced players have fqailed to perform and contribute at an acceptable level, for some that is the case in all 3 forms of the game.
