I'm peased he's got another chance in the first class game, hopefully he's a success at Somerset and has a long career with them.
He's also developing a career outside the game in top end property development and rentals.
What percentage of the time he's been with the club has he actually been available for selection? under 40%?
That is the reason why the club may only be offering a white ball deal.
What is illogical is the three year all formats deal for Lintott, who doesn't play red ball.
Just read that Andy Umeed, who we discared has signed a contract with Somerset.
For the next game, Lamb has to return to the side, I'd be tempted to give Ethan Brookes and Jacob Bethell a chance in place of Davies and Mousley, with Chris Benjamin dropping down to 6.
Davies, Yates, Benjamin and Mousley have all benefitted from selection when their performances have not justified their place in the side.
The selection of Mousley ahead of Matt Lamb was a massive success.
Presumably Sam Hain will be dropped for the next game as he scores too many runs!

How demoralising is it for the rest of the team and squad when such poor permance is allowed to continue. Excluding his century, Davies has an average below 20 for the season.
That is not acceptable for a specialist batsman.
Remember we left out Mat Lamb who has an average of 48.7 and has scored almost 20% more runs in 30% less innings.
the radio comentary said they think Sam is still struggling with his back problems. He's definately not moving freely.
Yet another poor performance by Davies, it must be wonderful to know you'll be selected for everygame regardless of how badly you perform.
50's for Lamb and Stone, in an unbeaten 100+ partnership.
thats the point though, some players get to perform badly and nothing is done.
eg Yates 7 games as a specialist batsman with an average of under 13, take away his best score and his average is about 8. Or Davies who has been poor all season.
If you allow players who are performing badly to stay in the side, it has a negative effect on the rest of the squad.

He's lucky he's not getting a level 1 charge for dissent the way he reacted to the umpires decision.
Very strange that on what is a day that should be more suited to batting, Notts were all out cheaply, followed by Khan and Yates also failing.

Tom Banton would strengthen the squad, and should be worth a place in the side in all forms of the game.
Adam Hose has had chances in red ball cricket and failed to deliver. He is not considered to be a viable option for championship cricket, therefore there is no point offering him a full contract.
Adding Tom Banton would make the side stronger and would be a good signing.
That would appear to be a very significant conflict of interest.
Signing a 30 year old pace bowler with a history of injury problems, and a reputation of not working to reach and maintain the required fitness level does look like a very risky decision.
The club has had several bowlers who were injured more than they were available to play over the years, with Rankin and Stone been just two examples.
Do we really need to sogn another? Especially one with a history of unacceptable social media posts, and the potential to unsettle the rest of the squad?
