Much needed and im sure will be of great interest throughout the season
Seeing as I started this..I should answer
First X1 Davies Yates Malik Hain Webster Barnard Smith Woakes/Booth Bamber Gilchrist OHD
Top run scorer - Barnard
Wicket Taker - Bamber
First class position - 6th
Blast - Quarter finals (again)
Top player - Barnard
Young player - Smith
Most improved - Booth
Think we have done a good job with investing in our bowlers however, another year where we dont address our weakness in the batting. Worried by the openers and lack of quality alternative from 1-5

Woakes and Barker with the new ball, followed by Bamber and Booth/Thompson will do me.
We would still have OHD, Rushworth, Gilchrist and Simmons in reserve, although you would hope the latter would go on loan.
If we can sign an overseas batsman I think we're in a good position for next year.
Unfortunately bit of a 'meh' season sprinkled in with the odd quality.
If they got their way, likes of OHD would have even less cricket to play between June-August.
The reduction of 2 first class games would not have addressed the issue of too many games in April, May and September.
I assume Warwickshire were one of the counties who voted for the change, even without properly engaging with members?
I think it would be useful to know the counties who were in favour of maintaining the 14 round season. It's not perfect but the answer is certainly not to reduce it any further.
Looks like high winds all day, could be a day without cricket.

Key takeaway
At a vote, all Surrey players want a 14 game County championship 31-0.
Surrey CC are clearly proud of the CC and its their main priority and the membership and attendance shows that.
Damnnn 2 in a row.. we were looking very good.
Davies one looked a very poor decision

I think Young is available so I'd say he will come in at 3 for Mousley. Also reckon OHD will play instead of Gilchrist
A decent performance but didn't deserve to get to finals day again.
In previous years we have been very convincing in the group stage whereas this season we were very inconsistent and personally I think its time we moved away from t20 contracts for likes of Ali, Garton etc.
All this messing about to potentially reduce the season by 6 days in a 6 month period....
Can't wait for the same issues to crop up in the seasons to follow with injuries as they still play 7 games during April and May and 3 games in September
Needs to be playing for Warwickshire
England management looking to ruin him
Great win from an awful first 3 days
Webster and Rocky for next year please !
This was all down to our middle order however, it's time for change in captaincy
Having to leave the ground now to catch a flight home..fingers crossed they see it through !
Class innings from Malik, hopefully gives him the confidence to carry on for rest of the season
Fingers crossed the guys get stuck in today. Going to give it an hour before deciding whether to head down for a few hours.

Davies should resign after this shambles of a performance. If he doesn't resign then Westwood needs to wield the axe and replace him with Barnard. Should we lose this match and at Essex next week, we'll be looking over our shoulder at relegation.
Agreed. Would like to see Davies take the gloves and bat down at 6. Think it would be best for the team and Davies. Although Smith has certainly shown enough in first innings that he has something
