Henry is out of contract at the end of this season. He is young and very raw, but huge potential.
He was superb in white ball last year, has never been as good at red ball, but still a very decent player.
However, he has injury issues, very rarely goes through a season without an injury or 2.
No first team matches this year so far, not great performances in second team. Plus with Stone and Norwell also highly injury prone, I wonder if the club consider how many players like that they can have on staff.
I personally want him to stay, but will be interesting to see what does happen. Because he’ll have been able to talk to other teams now. And there will be other suitors out there. Could end up being a decision for Henry rather than the club, especially if the team continues to succeed without him, and he isn’t playing.

We'd be absolutely insane to let him go. The trajectory of his career is on the up. Farbrace always speaks well of him. Academy product, developed locally. He has a good career ahead of him.

Henry should be offered a new contract. Huge ability and potential. It'd be criminal to let him go. I was never happy when Moeen Ali left to go to Worcestershire.

Couldn’t agree more they need to keep him.
My fear though is if he chooses to go elsewhere because he’s not playing. He hasn’t played at all, and he seems to not even be the next guy in. He’s a few players down the pecking order.
He was allowed to speak to other clubs from the start of this month.
They need to keep their young products and not have a reputation that academy players do better elsewhere.

He hasn’t been playing because he’s injured.

Some rather poor news to report. I played a round today with a friend of mine who works for a sports agency. He said there was talk going round county cricket last week that Brookes is out long term. The club are apparently planning that he won’t be fit for the T20’s, and it’s 50/50 as to whether it’s a season ender, but it all depends on what doctors say. Word on the grapevine is that it was misdiagnosed, he had discomfort after bowling before the Derbyshire match, had a scan later that week and it showed it is apparently a ligament issue and not muscular.
He had been considering his options and that’s why no contract announcement, even though one had been offered by the club. Expectation is now he’ll re-sign with Warwickshire as no one else will risk it with an injury of unknown severity.

I guess Phoenix will be looking for another player next month as well then. What's the situation getting replacements in the 100?

As far as I can tell it’s chaos and no one really knows. There’s a supplementary draft coming up. But I’m not sure if that’s just for extra players or for injury/withdrawal replacements too.

Brookes signs for 3 years. The announcement also confirms that he is out for the rest of the year and will be having surgery on his quad/ligament/tendon injury.
Good and bad news in one go.

Agreed. Terrific news that he's signed an extension, bad news about the injury. He'll be back though, so much potential and he has an insatiable will to win.

Yes, really pleased that Henry has signed for another 3 years. Still young with huge potential. He probably needs to bulk up a bit more in the gym. With a bit more added power he could easily be a consistent 90mph + bowler, hopefully for England one day.

Phoenix have replaced HB - with Somerset's Will Smeed - a batsman ! Strange - but then the 100 is strange ?!

Well, Henry Brookes really starred for Birmingham Phoenix tonight: 5 wickets in a stunning victory over Southern Brave. Will Smeed also hit the first hundred in the hundred for Phoenix! Amazing power hitting....

Well, obviously, Henry has moved on from Matt Mason, to a proper bowling Coach!

Seriously, the HunDreadful could be the competition that finally gets him to where we thought he'd be at the start of his career.

Did you steal 'HunDreadful from my idea last week of 'The HunDread'. My legal team are checking facts and timelines so you might be hearing from my lawyers. I am expecting no out of court settlements and figures of at least £50 have been talked of.

Yeah, well, I can't deny your phrase was an inspiration. How about we settle out of court, with a pint at the Rea Bank bar? Mind you, me living in Cumbria now, means you could have a long wait!

It's interesting (and good) that the Hundread (I'll go with you !), doesn't merit any specific thread on this Forum. Though I'm glad individual Bears get something. I hope the likes of Lintott, Davies, Hain et al, also do something worthy, to get a mention this summer, despite the stupidness of the competition

Yes, you hope they will become better players and if Lintott could become a good CC spinner, as an unknown and rare type of bowler, he could be very useful.
Just had a word with my legal team and they say that your admittance of plagiarism is enough in itself to give me victory, I raise an 'air pint' to you BR.

i seem to recall saying that one or two of the bowlers might be in the last chance saloon, otherwise known as a loan to Derbyshire:
