I have been deleting some of the earlier spammers, but don't want to delete the more recent ones just yet as it means that they can sign up again with the same email address. If I can find a way to block them in the first place then I can delete them later.

I think it looks great and it's good to see the club doing more to celebrate its history. Not sure when I'll get a chance to see it but I look forward to it!

I agree, and I also think that what is deemed as “acceptable” can change quite a lot over the course of even a decade. There are words or phrases that I would say when I was 18 that people didn’t bat an eyelid at then that definitely wouldn’t be acceptable now, 10 years later

I agree that it’s annoying (trust me, there are far better things for me to be doing than deleting posts and banning users) but as it’s only an average of about one spam post every couple of days at the moment, and I’ve just started a new job in a different country, forgive me if I don’t put it at the top of my priority list at the minute! I will try to look into it at some point but for the time being everyone will have to put up with it I’m afraid

Yeah unfortunately the club won't be able to tell you that. In my experience though it's usually easy enough to move around a bit on the day as some people don't turn up (amazingly), as long as your seats aren't too far apart.

I find it amazing that there are any professional sportspeople out there who haven't been through their old social media posts. I know I have been (and I didn't find anything too bad, just a few embarrassing posts!)

Yes, unfortunately I don't think there's much I can do about it, other than delete and block when it happens.

Not sure why that's happening, a bug with the forum I suspect. If you copy and paste the link into a new window it works.

Yes, thanks for these! Views of opposition supporters are always welcome. Very nice to be able to relive the final day drama!

Championship matches starting on Monday or Tuesday, why?!

Quite. The games in September are particularly baffling given there's no other cricket on then.

I'm beginning to get concerned that England will come calling for Mark Robinson at this rate...

It's a very sorry situation. I agree that it could be difficult from a legal perspective given it all happened before he was with Warwickshire.

The "report post" function is not working, meaning we are unable to report spam etc

This is now fixed!

Back to two divisions next season:

I think it's a bit harsh on Notts after this season, but otherwise seems fair.

Apologies for the recent downtime, this was caused by my recent upgrading of the forum software. The upgrade itself was successful (you might notice that the forum looks a little different now) but something in the background was broken in the process. I've implemented a temporary fix and will try and work on something permanent in the next couple of days, but be aware that the forum may be unavailable at times during this period.

Excellent news.

Might go on the Wednesday. Is it true you can't get tickets in the gate? It's touch and go whether I'll get the day off work...

That's correct, see here:

https://tickets.lords.org/en-GB/shows/bob%20willis%20trophy%20final%20-%20second%20day/events

It does say that tickets are issued as soon as the transaction is complete though, so I imagine that you'll be able to buy one through the website and be able to use it immediately.

Wow! What a day. I’m still buzzing!

Managed to “work from home” at Edgbaston yesterday and today (including having a Teams meeting at the back of the Hollies this afternoon!) and I’m so glad I did.

A perfect performance today. I think the wicket just before lunch was the turning point - that meant we went to lunch in good spirits. It was looking a bit dodgy up to that point.

I also managed to get photo of me holding the trophy, as well as with Hain and Rhodes. What a wonderful group of players we have. Rhodes is also really growing as a captain, that was a great declaration and great bowling changes all day.

Exciting times ahead!

I thought we were pretty unlucky in the Somerset first innings. Leach must have played and missed about 20 times! Woakes in particular was unfortunate. Hopefully we'll get a bit more luck in the second innings and Somerset will collapse. Unlikely, but you never know!

I'm clinging on to the fact that Somerset have shown themselves to be very capable of a collapse recently.
