298 all out. Wickets shared around by the seamers. Excellent day in the field considering Hants chose to bat.

Presented with his county cap before the game.

Hants won the toss and elected to bat

My theory is that Benjamin is getting picked so that, even though we are top of the table and have won two matches in the last two days, we still have something to complain about.

😂

4 wins on the bounce, it’s a good feeling.

Huge props to the spinners but all the plaudits to Hain and Bethell.

Bears win the toss and bowl.

Booth in for Gleeson.

Gleeson named in the squad.

It was definitely a side strain. He was stretching his side out between his first and second overs, then pulled up after one ball in his second. Perhaps shouldn't have tried to bowl that over given he looked in discomfort beforehand.

Someone mentioned Hassan also out?

Yes, reported by the club yesterday he has an elbow injury.

Apparently Gleeson went off with a hamstring injury so I don’t expect to see him back for this one.

Unlikely to see a more comprehensive win than that.

Jacob Bethell take a bow! 15 ball 50!

Barnard already has more runs in 15 balls than Benjamin has in 6 games!

Bears win the toss and bat.
Barnard in for Yates, Miles in for Woakes.

There will be some late decisions on the playing XI as Robbo awaits clarity on some injuries, Hassan Ali (elbow) Rob Yates (illness)
No Woakes as he prepares for the return of the CC on Sunday.

As has been said before I think we’re just one big hitter away from a balanced side. Probably got one of the best bowling line-ups (I preferred the bowling attack from Sundays game) and our catching and ground fielding have been superb up to now.

Always good to have a player like Hain to play the anchor role. If you know there’s a player like him at the other end it gives you licence to play a few more expansive shots. When it becomes a problem is if both players are playing cautiously.
Yesterday we were only 2 down at the half way stage, we needed someone to go big even if it meant losing a few more wickets. We could have really helped our NRR which could decide who makes the QF’s or not.
Of course it’s easy to say when you’re watching!

Good to get the win but not a very exciting game to watch, made worse by the inane commentary from the Derby bloke and camera work which made me seasick.

Derby win the toss and bat.

One change, Garton in for a Hassan Ali.

Jamal is added to the squad otherwise unchanged.
