Strong squad named. Dan Mousley released to play.

Yates (C), Ali, Bamber, Booth, Davies, Garton, Gilchrist, Hannon-Dalby, Jani, Lintott, Malik, Mousley, Smith, Taylor, Wylie.

And is in the squad for Leicestershire away!

Brilliant win over Glamorgan U18 this week with Eddie Miller taking 6-37 in the fourth innings to go with his second innings 86 opening the batting. Really encouraging performance.

Not selected in the hundred tonight, meaning he’ll be available for ODC selection on Friday.

Done a bit of digging but can’t seem to find it unfortunately.

Has been named in the squad for the roadshow match vs Warwickshire League XI tonight.

Supreme from Bobby Yates. He's so dismissive square of the wicket when he's in touch. Really pleased for him to get a first ton as skipper.

I think the club shop is trying to buy in to the Indian market, and in general the surge of “mystery cricket shirt” boxes. They’ve had BBL and CPL shirts in there I believe, and they tend to be there year round.

The shops been shit for years now and its a shame, its all about the online these days. Do you go many games? Its usually just all England and Hundred stuff, even some IPL stuff which is weird.

Judging by the pretty large and enthusiastic crowd today the game was very much "wanted" id have said.

Great win, Barnard MOTM, made it look incredibly easy. Garton run out moment of the match.

Was very surprised by the size of the crowd in the pavilion when I walked in for the second innings. Really encouraging to see a crowd of that size in a rare 50 over game at Edgbaston.

We were linked with John Simpson around a month back (I think by George Dobell)

If it were a choice of Simpson or Cox I’d be much more interested in Simpson as a red ball keeper with Smith taking white ball duties.

Pretty clinical performance in the end. Executed far better than Surrey in all facets.

Bloody hell George Garton.

We’ve got the platform to go very large here. Watching on stream the Birmingham End straight boundary looks tiny?

Is it still a realistic possibility to qualify? If we won 5 from here are we gonna go through? Not sure.

Full Squad:

Yates, Ali, Bamber, Barnard, Booth, Davies, Garlick, Garton, OHD, Jani, Lintott, Malik, Smith, Taylor, Wylie.

Barnard Yates Malik Davies Smith Jani Booth Lintott Ali OHD Bamber

is how I suspect they’ll go if Booth is ready to play.

Booth is back! And Barnard has been released to play! Things are looking up!

Another grievance I have, and it’s completely with a Warwickshire hat on, but Mousley’s looked in the best touch he has for a few years and it now disappears through a month without a game and he’ll return for our Championship run-in, title charge ready, with no cricket behind him, out of touch.

There is so little infrastructure behind the hundred to support these players who have careers and trophies to win outside of these six weeks yet aren’t getting picked. Winning the Championship would be the pinnacle for Mousley, I’m sure, and our chances actively diminish for each game he sits on a bench. Good enough for a payday, but will constantly struggle to be picked ahead of the top overseas. It’s sad.

Unless Barnard is released, I can’t see much. Maybe an Academy batter involved? Not much else to gain from this competition now.

Can’t be released if your team plays on the same day, so that rules Mousley out unfortunately.

The sad thing is he’d be able to make a case for England selection in the format he’s made the biggest international impact in so far and he’s missing it to effectively be destined for bench sitting. All part of the demise of 50 over cricket.

It’s just not very appealling to watch now is it. The lack of bowling depth is very obvious and barring that opening spell of 10 yesterday, both OHD and Bamber haven’t been at their best with the ball. Besides that, Alex Davies has been nowhere near his best. If you want an inexperienced side to compete, you need your experienced players to guide the way.

Having a Sam Hain available, or a Keith Barker to be a soundboard for these guys would do a world of good. We have so many players currently who look incapable of building a 50 over innings.

For what it’s worth, Charlie Taylor bowled a lot better than his figures suggest and it’s encouraging to see one of our own come in at such an early age and look right at home in the battle.
