Don’t really get it. Not sure how you go from our best bowler against Notts to not in the squad. Assume Theo and Sam just come back in and Theo takes Lintott’s overs.
Similar story to the Northants game, this. Behind the game and just not able to strangle the game enough to create the pressure required to stifle.
Another 30 or 40 would have been a good game.
you know what? Fair bloody play George Garton. Still going to be difficult to defend here, but we’ve got a chance.
Feels like if they break this partnership it’s more or less game for Notts. Really disappointing communication regarding availability, and really disappointing team selection quite frankly.
If Hain’s been signed up as a replacement for The Hundred then it feels very egregious considering he’s missed this comp two years running to sit on a bench or bat as low as 8.
Pleased to see Charlie in, but suspect it’ll be an unchanged team.
Picking Garton over Malik as a specialist bat is a weird one for me. We can't be picking out of sympathy for players who have had injuries, becuase that's how that feels. If you're going to weaken the batting like that, pick a bowler.
Not seen much of the Northants innings live but they did save quite a few runs with good fielding - posted as Smith lets one through his legs for four on the boundary.
Think it’s fair to say toss was important, the ability to tailor intent to your target has looked quite important with our attack never really able to keep the strangle just when it’s felt like it’s been coming.
Not having a batter go on is probably the difference here though, an extra 30 would have been a good game.
Deceleration looks like it’ll leave us under par. Scores but no big contribution and no one there to “cash in” at the death. Will need to bowl well.
Surprised to see Wylie batting 3 but will always support one of our own being given a proper opportunity.
just can’t see how Garton goes from being a batter only to being able to bowl 10 in a match. He might get in for batting and being a gun fielder mind! If we’re going in the 4 frontline bowlers though it’d quite a risk to need 10 from Yates and Jani if it’s a road.
Yates Jani Malik Hain Davies Smith Lintott Bamber Ali OHD Garlick is my best guess.
Just think Wylie or Garton(with no bowling) playing leaves us lacking seam options. Would be really nice to see Theo have a little breakthrough though. Lintott isn’t far off all rounder status having played some really important knocks for us in this comp.
2-0-2-2 for Ayan Khan opening the bowling. Doesn’t get much better than that.
I believe this is the overall title, with the best performing side (Warwickshire) facing the winners of the play off between Yorkshire and Kent.
We’re in charge at the midway point, posting 214/6 led by Olly Dandy and Arjun Nahal. https://live.nvplay.com/ecb/?tab=m_summary#m3bf2d301-6932-46b8-8176-b9726cf53a9e
Playing in the U19 Test against South Africa starting today and taking the only wicket to fall so far.

My main quandry now is who will captain in the absence of Barnard. I notice that Jani skippered both of the 2nd XI sides that have played in the past couple of days.
Yates is definitely part of the “leadership group” so I’d imagine it’ll be him.
Fair to say Vansh has sealed his spot in the top order.
Yates Jani Davies Hain Malik Smith Booth(if fit?) Ali Bamber Gilchrist OHD
Bloody hell Vansh.
Yates Malik Shaikh Hain Davies Jani Smith Booth Ali Bamber OHD?
Yates and Jani make the 6th bowling option.
He has been coaching with the women’s side too. Saw him walkimg around the boundary edge to the dugout during the home game against Essex.
