There's that bit of luck! Got to be right on it now.
Agreed, we'll bowl a lot worse and get more reward than this at times. Not had that bit of luck you need on a batting surface. So many close calls.
Incredible. Thompson on Hameed another close one we've not gotten.
If there's no bat that on that Woakes shout against Hameed that's plumb...
Enforcing the follow on comes as a bit of a surprise but with two (hopefully) fresh new ball bowlers, a good opportunity to get stuck into Notts again. Plenty of time left in the game to get this one done.
Just reflecting on yesterday again, it's so exciting that Michael Booth is really starting to show his abundant promise with bat and ball. Crucial and powerful runs to get us to the max batting points, fiery and aggressive with ball. Still room to improve, but he's really looking like someone with international attributes to me. Excited to see what he can offer with a run in the T20 side this season too after some impressive ODC performances last year. A stereotypical "X-factor" player.
Barnard’s had a pretty exceptional game so far. Enjoyed his rotation of the seamers and also led by example with his miserly spell. Really impressive.
Incredible! What a last half an hour that is. We’ve got such a balanced and multi-faceted seam attack to really hurt teams when we’re at it.
Love to see what Booth’s clocking on the gun here. Been brilliant throughout the afternoon.
Mikey!!!!!
Top class from Woakes. All over Verreynne.
We’ve bowled excellently in this evening session. Booth’s LBW shout on Clarke looked pretty good for what it’s worth and we’ve deserved more reward than the one wicket so far.
feels very similar to Yorkshire away last year. Every run vital and it's Beau getting them...
Very happy to see Rob Yates back at his nuggety yet stylish best today. Really important innings that should ultimately define the course of the rest of this one. Feel as though Sussex's seamers have bowled with a bit more discipline than ours did, perhaps bar Crocombe, but with Sussex's batters' lack of patience giving us a route in.
If we can make this a 330 lead I'd be pretty confident on a pitch still offering plenty.

Reckon Lintott was in squad last week ahead of Taz, so no reason why he shouldn’t be this week and so if a spinner plays it’ll be more than likely him. Here to be proved wrong. We definitely missed variety in that second innings and maybe in the first a bit. Depends a bit on the forecast I suppose.
On that note, nice to see Taz pick up what I believe is his maiden century for the 2s in a friendly against Worcestershire batting at 8 against a decent Worcs attack (Gibbon, Home, Darley, F. Singh all highly rated). A couple of good first innings wickets too including Rob Jones bowled.
Also nice to see Zen Malik respond to his non-selection for the Surrey match with a dominant ton, too. Good headaches to have off the back of a strong performance.
So pleased for Dan. You can tell that moment meant so much to him after throwing away a couple of chances at Warwickshire centuries before. Really excellent innings and brilliant partnership with Sam, bar a couple of running mishaps.
It just looked so routine out there today for us. No one ever seemed to be in trouble, Davies continuing his form from pre-season and Yates looking more like his typical disciplined yet stylish self. Let’s hope we get this one over the line and lay down a big marker for the season.
Really looking forward to this one. Feels like a strong early test of the dark horse tag we've been assigned by media outlets this week. A seam attack to complete with any on offer this season anywhere in the country, mind. Be a good statement to make with a positive result here.
Davies, Yates, Malik, Hain, Webster, Barnard, Smith, Woakes, Bamber, Booth, Gilchrist.
Bowling depth looks very strong this season.
Looks like they're playing in what I imagine to be the new County Championship top against Durham Uni today, shirt sponsored by Haier - they are the title sponsors of Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.

Team:-
Davies
Shaikh
Mousley
Malik
Barnard (Captain)
Kai Smith (Keeper)
Woakes
Thompson
Barker
Booth
BamberI guess that will ne pretty close to our opening CC lineup. Notable that Ed B is Captain today (he must be getting the CC job) and Kai is Keeper (there is,a good chance he'll be first choice as well).
Davies got another high score, opening (88) - being relieved of two other roles, has got to be good for him?!Its actually a 13 man squad, so I guess that will be the batting lineup, Gilchrist & OHD are also there, so they'll probably feature in the bowling lineup.
Is there any news about Hain and Yates?
Brian Halford reporting a minor hamstring niggle for Hain and Che Simmons nursing a minor knee problem. Nothing on Yates from what I can see.
