We need to get the 39 runs to avoid the follow on & that should secure the draw.

Pointless the tail enders prodding away at balls, go for a few shots to bring the target down and be proactive.

Yep, people take aim at the batters but to echo what others are saying, not for the first time this season we're just not bowling as well as out opposition have. Be it individually or as a unit. You look at the bowlers man for man, there's are better than ours. Hampshire game stood out as being similar to a degree where the opposition bowlers just made better use of the conditions than ours did.

I agree with the above but look at the batting lineup we have available today, I would not swap it for Somerset's talent wise but Bethell & Bernard have just thrown their wickets away..........I did not see the Davies wicket but doubtless it was to a rash shot again, having played his way in.

Our fielding was sloppy at times as well unlike Somerset so it is every discipline that we are 2nd best in.

Didnt take long tbf, just the 2 deliveries

Somerset have been much more disciplined. Less loose bowling. They know a draw on this pitch, with this ball is no disaster, especially as all but Surrey vs Worcestershire is looking like a draw. So they’re being disciplined, not forcing it, allow batters to make mistakes like Davies, drying up runs and getting to the new ball to try take wickets. Almost 300 behind at the new ball, means the follow on is still potentially on if they use it well.

Yeah, Reeve mentioned yesterday that we couldn't sustain a spell of bowling tight and drying them up which is exactly what Somerset have done.

Once again we are behind the 8 ball tactically. A couple of quick wickets with the new ball and we are up against it.

Not great this is it?

I forgot that the CC was back on today and only started watching at around 50-0 but we look really flat and out of ideas. I cant remember a genuine chance or unlucky LBW call f any kind (I haven't been glued to the game though).

Those couple of wins at the beginning of the season might prove vital because since then, we have not looked like adding many more to our total.

The T20 has produced some really poor performances so far considering the players we have at our disposal and we have a run of games against teams above us coming soon and we have been 2nd best more than on top in the CC games I have watched.

I keep saying it but something is not right at our club, we should be doing better than this.

Good win in the end and we bowled well, they have a capable top 3 but after that not much at all.

3 wins from 4 and hopefully we can carry this momentum forward. Northants are a decent unit on good form and look as though they will win the group but we really should step up and secure a place from the remaining games.

Anyone who finishes below Yorkshire need shooting at Dawn!!

Lyth is plum there, hitting middle and leg without any movement but the umpire is lookng too hard at it thinking it is moving down leg side. Poor decision.

Competitive total in the end down due Garton, Bernard & a couple of big shots from Hassan.

If we can get their top 3 out without too much damage being done we should be fine but we had to rely on some late order big shots to get us there because we threw our first 6 wickets away.

I am also happy to post when we do well, that is the ups and downs of a match but the general unhappiness stems from us underperforming in all formats with the exception of the CC win in 2021.

We should expect better, what is the point otherwise?

Sorry to bang on but this is terrible batting

Swashing away at balls that are just not there to be hit

No wonder Edgbaston has been half empty at best so far this year. It is a pretty long/awkward round trip for me to get there and I dont think I will be bothering to catch a couple of games this year for the first time in a while.

The talent is their but the application isn't and there seems an arrogance about us that I do not like. I think it stems from Davies but the players need to take their own responsibility for such poor displays.

Not good enough.

Does Moeen really want to be here?

When we need a proper innings from him, he just chucks his wicket away lazily.

Yorks really are a poor team but we are staring down the barrel again.

There is something not right when we are struggling badly against some very poor teams who seem to have a togetherness that we lack

Hain with a ridiculous shot makes it 3 easy wickets for Yorks

And now Mousley throws his wicket away after a pretty iffy innings.........no need for shots like that when there is a good score on the board

Davies giving his wicket away with another silly shot just when it looked as if we might get going........he should have been caught the previous ball but Revis messed up his feet on the boundary.

Hopefully this win will get us back on track but so far we have played 3 poor teams. This was the worst Yorkshire T20 I can remember. Some of the shots their middle order produced were terrible.

Durham & Notts also looked well short of a team you would expect to be challenging to get out of the group.

If we line up like last night for the majority of the remaining games, we should comfortably make the Q's again.

Thankfully Yorkshire have thrown away 4 wickets!

Some abysmal batting has allowed us to tighten things right up here

I have a great idea - Lets open up with seam in cloudy conditions, cause problems for the opening pair and then switch to spin to allow them to crack the ball all over the place. We can wait until they have their eye in and then switch back to pace........brilliant captaincy

Is this Sylvester really a cricketer?

Who on earth is responsible for his signature?

Poor from Barnard there really

Such a long way to go in the innings and he is standing miles away, exposing all of his stumps.

We will do well to reach 120 her on a wicket that the girls smashed 190 odd

When we are poor, we do it very well.

I have only just noticed that Garton, Miles & Tubby Sylvester are our seam attack............my grass looks like it needs a good cut.
