While it is good to stick with a winning team it might be a good idea to bring in a couple who have not featured throughout just in case injury etc forces a change upon us at quarter and final days.
Yes, good point. I believe a player has to have played at least 2 group stage games to be eligible for selection in the finals rounds.
It’s an unchanged squad of 14.
Quarter finals take place 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th September. Dates and opposition will be known after the final group games on July 19th.
Hopefully we’ll have Gleeson back for the quarters.
Great to bounce back with a good win.
Quarter final place secured.
198/2 a decent total after a slowish start. Good to see Mo get his first 50 as a bear but Mousley and Hain show their class again.
Probably a wise decision to play the extra seamer.
Derby won the toss and bowl.
Miles in for Yates.
Player of the match last game, villain of the match this time. Cricket eh?
There’s nearly always a game like this, brings you back down to earth after some pretty good highs. Garton will get the brunt of the bad press but, with a couple of exceptions, the whole team were below par.
Let’s hope we can bounce back tomorrow.
Hain now gone cheaply, not our night tonight.
Benjamin is keeping wicket
We’ve lost the toss and bowl.
Davies in for Barnard the only change.
7:30pm start if no more rain.
17 overs a side.
Toss delayed by rain
A late decision will be made on Davies tomorrow night but if he’s unable to play Benjamin will take the gloves and Briggs will skipper the side. Hassan Ali and Gleeson remain sidelined through injury.
From his interviews Stokes is implying that this selection is purely to take a look at options for the Ashes. It’s a dangerous game to play if the team selected then gets beaten and you look pretty foolish.
I’m a great believer in always putting out your best team to win the game.
The 2’s finish 3rd, just missing out on a finals day place due to Glamorgan having a rained-off game today and taking a point.
With no chance of a return to fitness in time Jamal has returned to Pakistan.

Surely it is premature to declare him a "Great signing" and it would be better to see how he performs when he is with the club.
Hopefully he does prove to be a valuble member of the team, but apart from Ed Barnard, have any of the players signed, from other clubs or overseas, recently actually made the club stronger?
Great signing in the context of who we could potentially sign. He’s young and fit and has a decent red ball record. As you say, time will tell but I’m happy with the signing and wish him well.
