What was the score when Malik dropped Rew? It seems that was a very expensive drop, and probably took away any chance we had of victory.

Whilst deliberaately claiming to be injured when not may occur with certain national sides, I would be surprised if that was the case in this game.
Its standard procedure, even at good quality club grounds if they don't use rolling covers, which have a big airspace above the ground.
The coconut matting is absorbant, and wil stop the pitch "sweating" ubder the plastic sheeting.
A question, is an average of 16.84 acceptable for a specialist batsman?

Selecting a special;ist batsman who is averaging 18, or less, is not sustainable, or good for team moral.
Woakes as a specialist batsman would be a good selection, the club can not continue allowing someone to make very sub standard performances without consequences.

To have two specialist batsmen who are averaging 18 or less is totally unacceptable, and shows that changes in hte side are needed for the next game.

A poor shot, but no worse than similar shots played by the openers all season,. and they haven't faced any consequences.
In any workplace situation, having a worker who consistantly failed to perform at an acceptable standard has a very large negative effect on the wellbeing, motivation and performance of the other workers.
Therefore it is obvious, and essential, that Davies is removed from the team, in all forms of the game until he has shown by good quality, and productive second team performances, that he is worthy of consideration for a first team place again. The same could be applied to Malik.
The club needs to get away from allowing substandard performances to not have consequences.
We selected two specialist batsmen for this game who have averages below 20 at the start of the game, that is not acceptable, or sustainable.
Davies currently looks totally out of form, and is unlikely to make a positive contribution to the game. consistantly failing in the first few overs just adds pressure to the rest of the side.
He needs to be replaced by kai Smith now. Continuing to slect him does nothing for the side or for him.
Including Chris Woakes purely as a batsman would produce more runs and have a very positive effect on the moral of the team.

TB 2026 3/3 T20 games, ) championship as he was playing IPL.
In the championship last season he averaged over 44 from 17 innings.
I feel he is well worth trying to sign.
Last season he played 10 championship and 10 T20 games at Somerset. With that level of availability he would be worth signing.
Tom Banton would be an exceelnt signing, he's strengthen the side with both his batting and keeping.
As for our players who are out of contract, Simmons yes, but on a contract that is focused on appearance bonuses, Yates offer 12 months, with performance requirements, the others can be allowed to find new employers.
I'm sure that if a senior player wanted a game, he'd be given the opportunity.
I'd say that Davies, Malik and Yates would all have benefitted from playing in at least one of the two games this week.
